Using multiple mediums, I explored the theme of grief
Through paint, sculpture, and print, I explored grief as both a theme and for personal healing. In my past career, I experienced many situations that resurface at times without warning. My personal life has also been pitted with much loss where one realizes some things are just beyond our control. In creating art, I feel liberated. My decisions are no longer life or death. I have self-permission to inject emotion through symbols or objects significant to me without fear of consequence. Death, we know, is inevitable. However, what I strive for as an artist is to provide an aesthetic experience that provides a place of reflection and a reminder to be truly present in your current moment.
